California Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency in parts of Los Angeles where a leak of natural gas has made the people of the hospital and forced thousands of people to flee their homes.

Brown said he met with residents of Porter Ranch, thousands of whom were relocated to temporary housing by the local gas company after complaining of headaches, dizziness and nosebleeds.

In a statement Mr Brown said all state offices will take advantage of personnel, equipment and facilities to ensure the state's response carefully and sustainable state over this incident.

When issuing its order, the governor said that gas companies are expected to pay the costs related to the leak and ensure that customers will not pay the higher costs as a result of the leak.

Leaks in underground began in October in Porter Ranch area of ​​Los Angeles.

Well-owned gas company Southern California Gas has issued 45 thousand kilograms of methane per hour, increased greenhouse gas emissions the state to 25%.

In a statement Wednesday (6/1), the company said its main focus "is quickly and safely stopped the leak and to minimize the impact" on the population. The company estimates that it may take until the end of March to stop the leak.
